IFNGO has promoted UN IDADAIT - United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking ever since its inception in 1987. It falls on 26th June each year. With each day a theme with a slogan would be announced and it'll be used from 26th June of the present year to 25th June of the following year. For example, the current theme: CHILDREN AND DRUGS with the Campaign Slogan of "DRUGS ARE NOT CHILD'S PLAY" is for 26th June, 2006 to 25th June, 2007.

1987- U.N. ICDAIT - United Nations International Conference on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Vienna, - June, 1987.
 - His Excellency Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia was elected as President of U.N. ICDAIT, Vienna 1987.
 - U.N. ICDAIT adopted the Declaration of the International Conference on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Outline of Future Activities in Drug Abuse Control.
 - U.N. General Assembly Resolution 42/112 of December, 1987 adopted 26th June as United Nations - International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking - U.N. IDADAIT.
  
1988- Adopted the U.N. Convention Against Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
  
1989- U.N. General Assembly at its 17th Special Session, devoted to the question of International Co-operation Against Illicit Production, Supply, Demand, Trafficking and Distribution of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances adopted UNITED NATIONS DECADE AGAINST DRUG ABUSE 1991-2000; and the POLITICAL DECLARATION AND GLOBAL PROGRAMME OF ACTION.
